Bike Ride GPX
Cycling at KTC is based around group rides, an evening chain gang session and indoor spin sessions. Over winter in bad weather there are also Zwift rides with a social zoom chat running at the same time.
The OFFICAL TRAINING SESSIONS can be viewed here.
If you wish to attend a training session before you join – this is done on the JoinIn system when you book a session by selecting trial rather than calendar entry. You can join 3 sessions free of charge before being asked to sign up for membership. You will also be given access to the Club Private Facebook page.

The main cycling event is our Saturday social ride starting at the Shell garage in Knutsford. There are two rides most weeks – a short slower ride where we go at the pace of the slowest rider and a faster more challenging ride. Led rather than coached, this session covers 30 to 50 miles at an average speed of 12-14mph for the slower group and 15-17mph for the faster group. If you are a slower rider, you will be most welcome on the slower shorter ride – please join us – everyone is welcome.
You can view all the Club Rides here. It is possible to download GPX files and also see the rides on Komoot.
The rides include flat routes around Cheshire and more hilly rides in the Peak District. The ride has a ride leader who advertises the ride on Facebook in advance so that members know what they are letting themselves in for. We go at the pace of the slowest rider and have the motto “no one is left behind”
In addition, the club runs a chaingang on Monday evenings throughout the summer. Training in chaingang technique is provided and again these rides have a ride leader trained by British Cycling.
Whilst every rider must accept responsibility for their own safety we take our responsibility to our member very seriously – our commitment to safety etc can be seen on the club safety policy.
During the spring, autumn, and winter, you can join our coached spin sessions which currently take place at The Mere Golf and Country Club.
There are several non-coached informal sessions in various WhatsApp groups in the club where members arrange unofficial bike rides, swims and runs.
Over the years the club has participated in various major sportives as a “club group event”. The club organises everything including event entry, travel to and from the event (not easy for A to B cycling events), accommodation and some meals.
In recent years we have done Coast to Coast in a day and Wales in a Day – about 40 members attended each event which were very well received. There is also an annual bike ride from Knutsford to Abersoch over at least the Ironman distance of 112 miles. Joining in one of these events is a great way to get to know fellow members and participate as a group in an amazing day out.
